Rooftop Shooting Range — Home of Practical Competition Shooting League in North DFW
What Is PCSL?
PCSL — the Practical Competition Shooting League — is one of the fastest-growing competitive shooting formats in the country. Built as a modern, open-source ruleset, PCSL was designed to bring practical shooting into the current era: simple divisions based on real-world equipment, a higher accuracy standard through redesigned targets, and a format flexible enough to run 2-Gun, Pistol, Rifle, and 3-Gun matches under a single rulebook. PCSL calls itself "The Future of Competition Shooting" — and the growth of local clubs across the country is proving that out. If you've competed in USPSA, IDPA, or 3-Gun and are looking for a format built for today's shooter and today's gear, PCSL is worth your attention.

PCSL Format Overview
A few things worth knowing about the format before your first match:
Divisions are based on modern real-world equipment — your everyday carry or competition setup likely fits right in. Pistol, 2-Gun (pistol + carbine), and Rifle divisions are all supported.
Scoring uses hit-factor (points per second), the same model used in USPSA — rewarding both accuracy and speed.
Targets are PCSL's redesigned K-Zone targets, which demand a higher accuracy standard than most other practical shooting formats. Official targets are available through CHL Targets.
Rules are open-source and available free at pcsleague.us. Download the 2025 General Rulebook before your first match.
PCR System — the PCSL Competitor Rating ranks you nationally based on sanctioned match results. The better you perform at affiliated matches, the higher your PCR climbs.
