Fundamental Foundations 102 (FF102)
FF102 integrates movement with shooting. Understanding the relationship and balance between fundamentals and movement is key to performing both concurrently with success. This course expands upon core marksmanship principles by introducing movement fundamentals, positional control, and dynamic problem-solving. Students will learn to execute efficient entries and exits, maintain visual discipline while moving, and apply fundamentals in non-standard positions and varied start conditions.
Cost: $250 per student
Key Skills / Learning Focus:
Movement control and efficiency
Shooting while moving
Position entries and exits
Non-standard shooting positions
Single-handed shooting and manipulations
Subjects / Syllabus:
Movement Fundamentals: short to long distance movement, moving safely with a firearm, balancing aggression vs. control, mounted and dismounted movement, understanding effects on sights
Exits, Entries, and Positioning: getting in and out of position, establishing movement control for optimal shooting, reverse-engineering position entries, handling different target difficulties
Shooting on the Move: grip and vision during movement, upper/lower body independence, sight management, visual and physical tracking, sight confirmation while moving, optimizing body mechanics
Dynamic and Divergent Shooting Fundamentals: draws and reloads on the move, various shooting stances and positions, index and recoil management in different contexts
Transitions: large and wide transitions, predictive exits and entries, confirmation modulation, VOR transitions
Accessory Skills: single-handed shooting and manipulations, non-standard start conditions (surrender, hands on marks, turn and draw, table starts, etc.)
Training Philosophy & Diagnostics:
Students will build confidence in balancing precision with speed under movement. The class emphasizes efficiency of motion, economy of effort, and diagnostic awareness — developing the ability to self-correct and perform with control under dynamic pressure.
Equipment Recommendations:
Pistol, magazines, gun belt, magazine pouches
Ear protection and eye protection
Ammunition:
Minimum: 500 rounds
Suggested: 700 rounds
Attire / What to Bring:
Attire suitable for forecasted weather conditions

All portions of the holstered firearm, holster, magazines, and magazine pouches, must remain within 3.375" of the competitor's body measured from the inner portion of the competitor's belt system at the top of the belt.
IWB (Inside the Waistband) holsters and ammunition carriers may be worn on the competitors strong side between 12 and 4 o'clock (for right handed) and 8 and 12 o'clock (for left handed competitors). AIWB (Appendix Inside the Waistband) carry is SPECIFICALLY ALLOWED.
OWB (Outside the Waistband) holsters may only be worn on the competitors strong side between 2 and 4 o'clock, or 8 and 10 o'clock. 3/15/26 RSR PCSL CONCEALMENT ONLY PISTOL MATCH
DIVISIONS and EQUIPMENT RULES:
Concealment of holstered firearm, holster, magazines, and magazine pouches is required unless otherwise specified by the WSB. Equipment must remain concealed from all directions when competitor is standing normally with arms extended at either side, parallel with the ground.
The strong side hip bone denotes the position of 2 o'clock for right handed, or 10 o'clock for left handed competitors. OWB ammunition carriers may not be further forward than the hip bone (moon clips are exempt from this restriction).
Holsters may have a forward or rearward cant of up to 15 degrees.
Off-body carry is also permitted. Competitors may carry their firearm inside a purpose-built concealment bag such as a fanny pack, sling bag, shoulder bag, backpack, or similar concealed carry system. The firearm must remain fully concealed within the bag prior to the start signal unless otherwise specified in the WSB. Competitors must demonstrate safe firearm handling when drawing from off-body carry and may be subject to additional safety review by the Range Officer prior to the stage start.
When using off-body carry, the firearm must be secured in a holster within the bag that fully covers the trigger guard to ensure safe concealment and prevent access to the trigger while the firearm is inside the bag.
Both of the following divisions are being adopted from the BELT Concealment Championship. They will be unique to this event. The division rules as listed below show the intent behind each respective division.
