Pistol Fundamentals is the next step for women who already understand basic pistol safety and operation and are ready to refine their skills.
This course focuses on improving consistency, efficiency, and confidence while introducing more advanced techniques such as drawing from a holster, target transitions, and higher-level gun handling skills. It is designed to bridge the gap between beginner instruction and performance-based shooting in a structured and supportive environment.
Review and refinement of core pistol fundamentals
Grip pressure and recoil control
Trigger control, trigger prep, and reset
Acceptable sight pictures and visual confirmation
Draw mechanics and draw safety
Reload fundamentals and efficiency
Malfunction identification and clearance
Target transitions and visual discipline
Applying fundamentals at increased speed
Self-diagnosis and error correction
Semi-automatic pistol (9mm recommended)
Minimum of 3 magazines
Quality belt and holster (outside-the-waistband recommended)
Eye protection and ear protection (required)
Closed-toe shoes
Minimum: 200 rounds
Suggested: 250–300 rounds
Attire suitable for forecasted weather conditions

Please note that Pistol Fundamentals is not intended for first-time shooters. Students must demonstrate safe pistol handling and a working understanding of firearm safety prior to attending. This course builds upon foundational knowledge and introduces performance-oriented skills under instructor supervision.
All class fees are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend your scheduled class, your payment will be converted into a credit that may be applied toward a future Rooftop Shooting Academy class.
