PCSL Rifle Match

There are only 3 goals: be safe, learn tons, have fun

- 4 stages, including the 200-yard rifle bay

- Match fee is $35 for non-members and $25 for range members (Range members must be part of the Rooftop Shooting Range PCSL Club to receive the discounted rate: https://practiscore.com/clubs/rooftop_shooting_pcsl/membership/join)

- Sign in starts at 8:30 AM

- Match starts at 9:00 AM

- Equipment: Rifle, magazines, belt with mag pouches, rifle bag, sling, and chamber flag

- Round count: minimum of 140 rounds (It is recommended that you bring extra ammo just in case, say 200 rounds to for make-up shots)

-PCC is expressly prohibited for the PCSL 1-gun Rifle format

If you're unable to attend, please withdraw so that others may have an opportunity to attend.

Please keep in mind that PCSL safety standards require that 1) a rifle be unloaded and slung OR 2) unloaded and in a rifle bag when a competitor is not shooting.

Our Defensive Pistol Course was developed through lessons learned over years of covert and low-profile law enforcement training and experience. Red Dot Pistol: Fundamentals and Performance 2-Day Course (Taught by Hunter Freeland Modern Samurai Project Staff Instructor)

This course will be taught by MSP Staff Instructor, Veteran and MSP Black Belt Patch Recipient #17, #18 and #22, Hunter Freeland.

Throughout the training, we will cover a wide range of important subjects, including zeroing your red dot, draw techniques, utilizing the necessary information for accurate shots, and optimizing red dot usage at different distances. You will learn the art of speed and efficiency in draw and presentation, explore dot tracking methods, and discover different modes of practice to enhance your skills.

We will also delve into target transitions and shooting on the move. As part of the class, you will have the opportunity to put your skills to the test and potentially earn the Black Belt Patch.

To ensure a productive learning environment, please come prepared with the necessary equipment, including a slide mounted red dot pistol, the ability to carry three magazines, a good-quality holster (excluding Serpas and old leather holsters), 700 rounds of reliable ammunition, eye and ear protection, a Sharpie marker, and, most importantly, an open mind ready to absorb valuable knowledge.

The class will take place from 8:30 am to 5 pm at Rooftop Shooting Range 442 Co Rd 4455, Trenton, TX 75490

Range fees in the amount of $50 per day ($100 total) is due in cash to host at beginning of TD1.

Refunds are only available if the class is canceled by MSP. If students cannot attend, they can receive credit for a future class by notifying info@modernsamuraiproject.com 30 days prior to the class start date. Class credit is valid for one transfer only and expires after one year.

An entry-level course where students are familiarized with their shotguns. This class is geared toward those with training outside the basic classes from novice to the intermediate shooter, looking to tune up some skills. Even at this early level, we expect students to have an understanding of various methods of reloading, weapon manipulation and most importantly muzzle awareness and safety.

Safety brief & medical plan
Effective accessories
Effective shooting stance
Proper weapon grip
Recoil control
Sight alignment
Sight picture using iron sights and electronic optics
Proper patterning and confirmation of them
Use of the sling

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

A functional and practical shotgun chambered in 12 or 20 gauge.
Hearing protection, electronic is preferred
Wrap around style eye protection
IFAK and/or tourniquet
If available, a spare weapon system is also an excellent idea
A sling (optional)
Properly fitted shooting gloves
A minimum of 150 rounds of birdshot, 25 rounds of buckshot
A cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s)
Handheld flashlight and or weapons mounted light

Food and water/energy drinks for the day plan on staying at the range to eat we do not take hour lunch breaks 30 min max given some locations do not have food close by

This course pick up where practical shotgun ended. We will explore the use of slugs and proper zeros of irons and red dots sights, and extend range use of buckshot. As well as shooting on the move and alternate firing positions and target transitions and shooting on the move.

Rates for the 3/16/24 night shoot will go up to $45 per shooter and $15 per spectator beginning February 25th.

Please note that no refunds will be provided within 24 hours of the event. If you cannot attend, we will credit you for the next night shoot or a range day.

Any individuals who purchase Spectator tickets and are caught stealing/shooting will have their entire group removed and banned from the range indefinitely! (This means you AND your group will not be allowed to come back to the range, PERIOD.)
